Prepare CAD inputs for analysis

Use a supported native single-part CAD file directly, or obtain an authorized STEP export outside Immake when the source format is unsupported.

What it does

The Agent checks whether the named file is supported and explains the input boundary. Immake does not provide standalone CAD conversion or derived-CAD downloads.

Ask the Agent

Check whether this named file is directly supported. If not, explain how I can obtain an authorized STEP export outside Immake, without searching for or converting other files.

Typical answer

Analysis complete

manufacturing analysis / result

Convert the source 3D CAD file to STEP, then verify the result is a usable solid before analysis.

The conversion step is only a format bridge. It does not repair a bad model or replace the check against the original CAD file.

Convert

Open the source part in a CAD tool and export a STEP solid, keeping units and orientation unchanged.

Verify

Check solid status, units, bounding box, holes and key dimensions against the original model.

Do not assume

An STL mesh, drawing image or incomplete export is not equivalent to a valid STEP solid.
